Service explained

Choose on specification and condition, not price alone

A replacement needs to match the wheel size and meet the required load and speed ratings. Other markings may identify reinforced construction, run-flat capability, seasonal use or manufacturer approval. AH checks the visible sidewall details before quoting available options.

Part-worn tyres require a condition-based decision. Ask about remaining tread, age markings, previous repairs and visible condition, and confirm whether a suitable tyre is actually in stock. A cheap tyre is poor value if it does not suit the vehicle or has little useful life remaining.

Send every marking from the tyre sidewall

A useful photograph should show the whole size line, including the load index and speed symbol. Also capture markings such as XL, RF, C, CP or the run-flat designation. If front and rear wheels differ, send both sizes and state which tyre is damaged.

Tell AH how the vehicle is used and whether you want the closest equivalent to the existing tyres or alternatives at different price points. Mixing construction, size or unsuitable specifications can affect safety and vehicle behaviour.

Service questions

New & Part-Worn Tyres FAQs

For an urgent immobilised vehicle, call from a protected location.

Do you supply both new and part-worn tyres?

Yes, subject to the required size and current stock. AH explains the available specification, option and total fitted price before the visit.

Can I request a particular brand?

Yes. A specific budget, mid-range or premium brand can be checked with suppliers, but availability depends on the complete tyre specification and timing.

What should I ask about a part-worn tyre?

Confirm the size and ratings, remaining tread, age marking, visible condition and any previous repair. The fitter should explain the actual tyre being offered.

Do front and rear tyres always use the same size?

No. Some vehicles have staggered fitments, and approved sizes can vary by wheel. Read the sidewall on the affected position rather than relying on another wheel.
